Energy Tour is BACK for 2024!!!
Each summer Redwood Electric members have an opportunity to see where and how our electricity is generated. Members travel by bus to Bismarck, ND from there they will travel to various points of interest in the Bismarck area. They will have the opportunity to visit one of many coal generation plants and a working coal mine. The trip may also include a visit to area historical sites, Garrison Dam, and a private museum tour and supper.
Members will travel by bus to the Bismark, North Dakota area to visit:
Freedom Mine-See the gigantic equipment used to mine lignite coal.
Antelope Station-A Basin Electric Power Cooperative 450 megawatt coal-fired power plant.
Garrison Dam-The fifth largest earthen dam in the world.
Private tour of the Bismark Museum and enjoy a catered supper.
The cost of the trip is $175 per person. The $175 includes the bus, two nights hotel, six meals, and the private museum tour. A $175 per person deposit must accompany your reservation. We have 25 seats available, as we share a bus with South Central Electric. The final tour schedule will not be available until early spring.
